From Pumpkin to Peppermint, some of the season’s tastiest ingredients can do double duty as skin treatments. Here’s how to use them for beauty at home.Surprisingly fruits like pumpkin offer tons of beautifying vitamins and antioxidants without subjecting your skin to irritating chemicals, fragrances and preservatives. You can also custom blend the ingredients to suit your skin perfectly, and they smell delicious!

Try the following simple recipes for your skin which is equally good to eat too!

Pumpkin And Honey Mask:

Pumpkin seed oil contains salicyclic acid, a skin refiner.

Pumpkin is a winter wonder fruit known for it’s powerful punch of skin-healthy ingredients.  It’s the ideal ingredient for soothing sensitive skin and treating skin redness. It also has beta-carotene which slows the ageing process by helping to protect skin collagen.

Recipe : In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup mashed pumpkin and one tablespoon of honey  until smooth. Apply to clean skin and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse with water and pat dry. Your skin will feel soft and clean. Apply once in a week or whenever your skin is red or irritated.

Peppermint Foot Scrub :

The menthol in the peppermint is soothing and energizing at the same time. It also has anti-bacterial properties that fight infection and odour, making it perfect for your feet and legs.

Recipe : Mix 3 drops peppermint oil, 1/4 cup minced fresh mint, 1 cup coarse sea salt, 5 tablespoons olive oil or coconut oil, and 1 tablespoon cocoa powder. Soak feet in warm water for 15 minutes before scrubbing. Starting from feet knead the scrub on to your skin making small circular motions with your fingers. Go over the entire sole giving more attention on rough areas. Rinse clean.

Cinnamon Sugar & Spice Body Scrub :

Cinnamon boosts your blood circulation, energizing your whole body and giving your skin a glow. The anti-bacterial and anti-fungal property also helps prevent acne and pimples.

Recipe : Mix one cup raw sugar, 1/4 cup walnut oil, and 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Take the mixture in your palm and using circular motions massage all your wet body before rinsing clean.
